Safety when using medicines

You should always consult your treating physician before using this device. Follow your doctor’s orders. Read exactly for which preparations the Medisana ultrasonic inhaler is and is not suitable. Otherwise, damage may be caused to the device and to your health.

General tips

The Medisana Ultrasonic generator atomizes the medications/preparations so that the active substances can end up where they can best exert their effect. This is called aerosol therapy. By an aerosol we mean a mixture of the normal air that we breathe every day and other gas particles. This mixture can then be inhaled. The advantage here is that fewer medications need to be used. The substances also immediately arrive at the location where they are needed. As a result, less is wasted and other organs are not unnecessarily burdened by the active substances in the preparations. An additional advantage is that it takes less time for the active substances to become effective because there is no need to take a detour through your body. The fabrics arrive directly at the required location.

How does the nebulizer work?

A part of the Medisana USC vibrates and through its movement converts the liquid to be atomized into very small droplets. The cross-section or diameter of these droplets is between 1 and 5 μm. One μm corresponds to the size of one thousandth of a millimeter. So very small. An average human hair has a thickness of around 50 μm. So the particles in the aerosol are less than a tenth of a human hair in diameter. This ensures that the medications can be transported into the narrowest branches of the lungs.

Miscellaneous

The Medisana nebulizer USC runs on four batteries. These are of the AA LR6 type. Normally these batteries should last you about a hundred minutes. This corresponds to five to eight treatments. The number of treatments that the batteries last depends mainly on the amount of liquid that needs to be atomized. If the liquid reservoir is almost empty, the device is switched off. The inhalation takes a maximum of fifteen minutes.

Nebulizing mask option

If desired, the option with a nebulizing mask can be chosen. A number of people find it more pleasant to inhale the aerosol through the nose.

How does the treatment work?
