Speed up your metabolism and get your fat burning started!

Would you like to lose a few centimeters? This can be done easily and cheaply! Then speed up your metabolism and get your fat burning started with these simple tricks.

Movement! Movement! Movement!

Exercise is good for our health. But to speed up our metabolism we need to, among other things, grow muscles. You do this by exercising intensively, such as strength training or muscle strengthening exercises. Muscles are important for burning calories. Even if you don’t exercise you will burn calories! Ideal, right? A good tip is also to exercise in the morning before breakfast. This way you immediately boost your metabolism! If you are not very sporty, you can just keep moving! Take the stairs instead of the elevator, cycle instead of by car as often as possible , go swimming when the weather is good, or take a long evening walk so you can sleep well afterwards. Wash your car yourself and save on a car wash. Gardening is always fun too! As long as you keep moving you will be fine.

What about food and drinks?

A handy and cheap trick to speed up your metabolism is of course to drink a lot of water, but add some ice cubes to it. So that your body cools down and it has to warm itself up again. Green and white tea are also a good way to maintain your metabolism, because these teas are healthy. They still contain caffeine, but that causes your heart rate to skyrocket. Green tea also contains fat-absorbing catechins. You’ll be fine with 3 to 4 cups a day. White tea has almost the same properties, but the difference is in the taste. (Green tea is bitter, white tea is softer). A cup of black coffee without additives (otherwise that effort is for nothing) is also good for your metabolism. You should also eat regularly. This keeps your combustion going. You can compare this with jogging. If you keep jogging you will be able to keep it up better, but once you stop it will be difficult to get going again. Your metabolism works the same way! In addition to your three regular meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), it is advisable to eat something regularly. A healthy snack, for example. A good example to eat for breakfast is oatmeal porridge or Brinta flakes. Furthermore, research has shown that eating before bedtime has little or no influence on your weight. This will affect the quality of your sleep, among other things you will have many dreams or even nightmares. So you may not be rested the next day. If you like spicy food, go ahead and do so, your metabolism will thank you. You can always add a little cayenne pepper to your dishes, as you prefer. Proteins – proteins are always good, because they are the building blocks for your muscles! To digest them, your body needs twice as many calories. It is best to choose lean meat and dairy products, fish or something vegetarian (such as tofu), eggs, etc…

What more can you do yourself?

  • Get enough sleep! But as mentioned earlier: be careful with what you eat in the evening! Chocolate, sweets and fatty snacks increase your chance of having many dreams and/or even nightmares.
  • Also try to relax enough and avoid unnecessary stress. Take your mind off things by exercising, for example, because exercising also makes you happy!
  • Watch your alcohol consumption. In any case, alcohol is already a culprit, but unfortunately also for the figure. Definitely don’t drink this during your meal because alcohol slows down your fat burning. And we don’t want that!
  • Also use as little sugar as possible if you know that you will be sitting still for the rest of the day. Then you prefer to use cane sugar or honey, which is more useful.
  • Your thyroid also influences your metabolism. If it works slower, your combustion will be less than if your thyroid works faster. The functioning of your metabolism also has to do with your hormones.
