Meditation moments about love

In principle you can meditate on anything, although we naturally assume that you have meditated before. If this is not the case, watch one of the specials on meditation. You can find the specials by going to the general page http://annastaal.infoteur.nl/ and searching for the specials about ‘meditation’. After the basics there are various topics, love is one of them and a not unimportant one.

Why?

There may be all kinds of reasons why you might want to meditate, whether it has to do with insecurities in a relationship, opening up to something new or allowing love in general. Meditation does not provide ready-made solutions, but it can provide insight, strength and stimulation, because you look at it from a distance during a meditation. There are some meditation exercises you can do that will initiate this process.

Practical examples

Be open to love

Relatively many people have difficulty opening up to love. Often motivated by pain and/or disappointment, but is actually not relevant to your meditation.Sit quietly in a straight, but relaxed position. Make sure the environment is quiet so that you can concentrate properly and visualize a flower that you find very beautiful and imagine yourself in the heart of this flower. But don’t see yourself standing in that big beautiful flower bud where it stands proudly, but with the head down and with the petals of the flower close together. Logical, because you see that it is still early and the morning sun has not yet made its appearance. You slowly feel it getting warmer and the sun is rising. Now you come up and slowly push the leaves aside and then you really feel the sun. The leaves stretch together with you to let in those wonderful rays of sunshine. You dare to raise that hanging cup again when you feel the warmth around you like a pleasant blanket. Make sure you store that pleasant feeling and can apply it every time love comes your way. It doesn’t matter whether this is the love of a partner, a parent, a friend or an animal.

Claiming love

As humans, we are wired in such a way that we want to maintain a pleasant feeling and want to control it. But love cannot be forced and, moreover, claiming behavior often has a counterproductive effect. People must be able to function and develop independently of each other. So letting go is the motto, but that is easier said than done.It is a simple meditation and so short that it can even be a kind of mantra. Visualize that your partner is a beautiful bird that you hold in your hand and that you have to let go. You are reluctant, because you are afraid that the bird will take off as soon as you open your hand. You now open your hand very carefully and you see that although the bird flies away, it simply stays near you. He circles around your head a bit and eventually sits on your outstretched hand or arm.The same meditation but then the bird is replaced by your dog. The young puppy being released for the first time. You have the belt in your hands and in a moment you click open the lock. Is your little sweet four-legged friend running away? You click the leash and your puppy takes a sprint, your heart pounds in your throat, but then you see that the puppy runs back just as fast. Glad she has the freedom, but the love from the owner is even more pleasant and the puppy will simply come back to you.

Apart

If you are forced to live apart due to work, study, (delayed) visa or otherwise. You want to be together so badly and it’s not possible, this can be so painful that it causes physical pain. Meditation can soothe.Visualize yourself and your partner writing to each other, looking at each other’s photos, etc. and then you will see all around you very thin whitish threads of silk. Almost invisible but very strong. You take a silk thread at the end and your partner does this too… slowly you bring these almost invisible threads together until they are completely together. The wires are thin but very strong and that stands for the tire (literally). The moment you miss your partner, you conjure up these images.

Finally

If you have done such a meditation one or more times and the picture is in your mind, it is easier to apply it during a moment to which it relates.
