Strengthen eye contours

The skin of the eye contour contains less collagen than other parts of the face. As a result, they become sagging easily and are more likely to show lines, wrinkles, bags under the eyes and dark circles. Here are some tips to firm the eye contours.

Quit smoking

Smoking reduces the amount of collagen in the eye contours and therefore causes skin sagging, lines, wrinkles, bags under the eyes and dark circles. By quitting smoking you can make the eye contours noticeably more beautiful.

Reduce alcohol consumption

Alcohol dries out the skin and therefore promotes sagging skin, lines, wrinkles, bags under the eyes and dark circles. Collagen production also decreases, even if you drink only one glass. If you can’t completely eliminate alcohol from your life, at least try to reduce your alcohol consumption.

Soy

Try to include as much soy in your meals as possible. Soy products (soy milk, tofu, soy cheese) contain genistein, an ingredient that helps the skin produce collagen and firm the eye contours. Try to replace milk and meat with soy products as often as possible to enjoy their benefits.

Green vegetables

Eat green vegetables more often, because they contain numerous vitamins and minerals that benefit the firmness of the eye contours. Try to eat at least one serving of green vegetables per meal (for example, spinach with the omelette, lettuce with lunch and broccoli with dinner).

Water

Drink a lot of water. Eight to ten glasses per day are a minimum if you want to strengthen the eye contours.

Vitamin C

Take extra vitamin C daily. Preferably choose the supplement with the highest dose of vitamin C that you can find.

Buyer

Just like vitamin C, copper also plays an important role in collagen production. You can take copper as a nutritional supplement.

Q10

Take a Q10 dietary supplement daily and also massage a Q10 capsule directly into the eye contours. Q10 has a great firming effect on the eye contours.

Amino acids

People who eat too few amino acids or proteins will sooner or later suffer from sagging eye contours and wrinkles. Amino acids are found in soy, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, beans, legumes, quinoa and milk. You can also opt for taking drinkable collagen daily.

Retin-A – Retinol – Retinoids

Use eye contour creams that contain ingredients such as Retin-A, retinol or retinoids. Retinol is the purest form of vitamin A and has a small molecular structure that can penetrate deep into the skin of the eye contour to stimulate collagen production.

Massage of the eye contours

Massage the eye contours by performing gentle circular and squeezing movements. Start at the inside of the eye and work outward. This massage of the eye contours causes the skin around the eyes to thicken by stimulating the production of collagen. This massage works best if you apply a good massage oil to the eye contours just before. For other massage techniques for the eye contours, we refer you to the Facelift massage article.

UVA/UVB protection

Protect your eye contours against UVA and UVB rays every time you go outside. The sun destroys the collagen in the skin of the eye contours. Therefore, always choose an eye contour cream that contains a high protection factor.
