Iceberg lettuce is the crispiest type of lettuce available. It is a large bunch but you can store it well so that it remains tasty for two weeks. It can be stored for a long time if you cut it off at the top and leave the bottom, where the roots were, intact. Some people cut a centimeter thick piece of iceberg lettuce every day and thus have their daily salad base.

Iceberg lettuce nutritional value

Unfortunately, iceberg lettuce does not contain very many phytonutrients. Iceberg lettuce mixes well with other types of lettuce. You can also cut some pepper cubes and add them. Other vegetables that can be added to a salad with iceberg lettuce are cucumber, red onions, olives, radishes, spinach, broccoli florets, dandelion leaves and lollorosso.
