Do not arrive on holiday

Holidays; the time to relax and not think about anything. Good food and good drinks… Until you get home and notice that you have arrived. Then you suddenly regret that you went wild on holiday when it came to food and drinks. Of course you should enjoy your holiday and you don’t have to stick to a diet, but there are a number of things you can pay attention to so that you don’t gain weight on holiday.

Movement

First of all, exercise is very important. You don’t have to train hard every day to stay fit, but making a little effort not to gain weight can’t hurt. You can read here how to get some extra exercise on holiday.

Watch your food

It is logical that you eat extra on holiday and drink that one extra glass of wine or beer. You will soon be tempted by the extensive breakfast buffets in the hotel or by the smells of delicious butter croissants and chocolate rolls at the local bakery and it is logical that you will also enjoy this meal, but you have to make sure that it is within the limits remain.

Don’t take everything

A nice, extensive breakfast is tasty, but you can enjoy one croissant in a day just as much as two or three croissants in a day. In the restaurants of all-inclusive hotels there is often so much food on the buffet that you cannot choose. You want to taste everything, especially during the first few days of your holiday. But don’t be afraid; that delicious food will be there for your entire stay! So make sure that you do not try everything at once, but that you eat a normal portion of food every day.

Breakfast good

If you have a good breakfast, you will be less likely to crave a snack later in the day. In addition, a good breakfast gets your digestion and fat burning going, allowing you to burn more calories for the rest of the day.

Fruits and vegetables

Whether you are spending a day at the beach or at the pool or whether you are going out for a day, you can always take a nice piece of fruit with you in your bag. Besides being healthy, it is also thirst-quenching!Also make sure you eat enough vegetables. At a buffet or when cooking yourself, fill half your plate with vegetables, so that there is less room for fatty things such as fries or a piece of pizza.

Ice

An ice cream is tasty and cooling on hot days. If you want to pay attention to your weight, it is wise to opt for a popsicle instead of ice cream.

Watch what you drink

On holiday you enjoy some soft drinks or cocktails, but without realizing it, you consume a lot of calories and sugars. Enjoy your delicious drink, but also drink enough water. For example, order a glass of water with your glass of wine or ask for extra ice cubes in your soft drink. Especially when it is hot, you drink more than when you are at home. Agree with yourself that you will, for example, have two glasses of alcohol a day or that you will opt for an alcohol-free cocktail. Alcohol slows down the breakdown of fats.Enjoying your holiday does not mean that you do nothing all day and that you do not have to slow down when it comes to food. You can also enjoy yourself and still pay attention to your diet and exercise. In addition, you don’t have to go on a diet immediately when you return from holiday and that is also fun!
