Menopause test: Am I already in menopause? Simple self-test

Many women are confronted early in life with strange and often unpleasant complaints and symptoms, which are unfortunately related to menopause. Do you want to know whether your complaints may be related to menopause? With this simple self-test you can easily find out via the questions in the checklist whether you are currently in menopause or not. Am I perhaps already in menopause? Do I have menopausal symptoms? And should I perhaps opt for a home test to be sure?

When does a woman normally go through menopause?

On average, a woman does not enter menopause until her early 50s, but this also means that the first symptoms of menopause can manifest themselves much earlier or much later. You may also have early symptoms of menopause between the ages of 35 and 40. Moreover, the transition is a process that can take as long as 15 to 20 years. It is therefore possible that you may already experience signs of menopause at the age of 30, or you may remain free from it until after the age of 55. If you suffer from unpleasant complaints, it is useful to test yourself for menopausal symptoms with the checklist below.

Self-test: A simple checklist to make sure “Am I already in menopause or not?”

If you answer the questions in this self-test for yourself, you will find out fairly easily whether there is a chance that your complaints can be attributed to early menopause or not.

  • Do you have your period with more or less blood loss than before?
  • Is your cycle less regular than before?
  • Do you suffer from weight gain?
  • Do you sweat more often or smell differently than before?
  • Do you suffer from headaches or tender breasts?

Menopause test: How can I test whether my body is already in menopause via a home test?

Nowadays you can buy a home test online and at the drugstore or pharmacy to actually physically test through your urine whether you are already in the early stages of menopause from a medical point of view. The reliability of these tests is reasonably high and you can therefore use them quite easily anonymously and in privacy. If you have a positive result on the above test checklist, it is certainly advisable to have your suspicions confirmed via a home test or other menopause test (the GP can refer you to have a blood test in response to menopause symptoms).
