  • If you have never exercised before and are already over forty, then you should not start exercising like crazy. Rather, you need to adjust your lifestyle. Take the stairs more often, walk around the block or ride your bike to work;
  • If you are not yet forty, you can become active in a sport even if you have never exercised before.

As you get older and have exercised less, it is not wise to suddenly start exercising hard. The body is not used to it and can cause additional complaints if you exercise too much. Always exercise as much as is reasonably appropriate for your age and physical condition.

Why does exercise work well?

Sports or just additional exercise is good for all parts of the body. For example, walk or jog regularly. The walking movement ensures that:

  • blood is pumped more easily through the body, because the ankles act as a pump in combination with vascular valves;
  • the body becomes more trained, which increases the amount of metabolites in the body. These aim to activate the body to run faster, get more energy from food, burn stored fats, and the like. It also aims to give the body a good feeling after training, which puts the body in a positive spiral. Exercise more to make you feel better;
  • existing fats are better removed, because the proportion of HDL in the body increases.

In addition to this important health boost, it also ensures that the body is de-stressed.

Benefit from more exercise because you will lose weight, your body will feel healthier and you will de-stress. A nice walk from time to time gives you different thoughts, so you no longer think about the stress and bustle of everyday life.
