Professor Lindsay Brown from the University of Southern Queensland has conducted research into onions and it turns out that eating onions is certainly positive when you want to lose weight. When you eat onions, your body will develop fewer fat cells and this is therefore positive if you want to lose weight. Onion is also good for digestion and this can also make a big difference for people who want to lose some kilos. Eating onions regularly is therefore recommended if you want to lose weight.

Other positive properties of onions

Besides the fact that onions stimulate weight loss, the onion has even more positive properties. This way you reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease if you regularly eat onions. Onion is also good against flu and colds and intestinal worms in children will disappear if they eat onion. Onion can also be used for insect bites or other injuries.

So limit the onions you eat. Brushing your teeth, flossing or chewing gum can also help against the smelly breath you get after eating onions. It is advisable that your partner also eats onions. If someone else has eaten it, he or she will not smell it.

Onion a miracle cure?

Losing weight with onions is therefore very possible, but as with everything, it is not a miracle cure. So see it mainly as a tool. You can lose weight by eating healthy: three meals a day and three snacks in between. Watch what you eat, make sensible choices and avoid too many sugars and unhealthy fats. Exercise is of course also very important. Try to exercise for at least half an hour every day and choose a sport that you can maintain well.
